When the medium is fully prepared, sterile and ready for distribution, a dispensing unit is used to fill containers with the desired volume. This process can be done manually and automatically. At Lab Associates we can provide our customers with both of these dispensing solutions.

If done manually, media will flow from the preparator to the dispensing unit where an electric pince-valve of the control box keeps the dispensing line closed. As soon as a container is placed before the optical sensor, the container will be filled with the desired media volume. The moment a second container is presented, an equal volume of the medium will flow out of the dispensing unit. Some operators prefer, however, an even more manual method. For those we supply a foot pedal to activate filling by foot switch.

Plant tissue culture laboratories are becoming increasingly large in size over the years, and therefore require more automated production. Because of this, Lab Associates offers an automated dispensing machine. This enables customers to benefit from reductions in operational costs and less RSI-related issues for the human operators as well as shared product innovation and subsequently lower innovation costs. This type of dispensing machine automatically stacks, dispenses and exports all the media culture vessels under a sterile environment. To protect the safety of the media, various smart safety measures have been installed to prevent contamination. The machine will fill approximately 20 cups per minute with 180 ml of media per cup (this is adjustable) and can be operated by one single operator.
