The LA-Conical 130 cultivation tubes are disposable, pre-sterilized polystyrene or polypropylene tubes, designed for plant tissue culture and plant breeding.

Developed by Lab Associates in the late 1980’s, this conical shaped tube provides perfect space for plant growth while using a minimal amount of medium. It is an ideal vessel for all key processes in a plant tissue culture laboratory, including plant initiation, plant storage, and the safe shipment of plantlets.

The clear conical design allows easy visual inspection of each individual plant, supporting contamination control and healthy development. The narrow opening between top and bottom creates a stable micro-environment that promotes healthier growth and helps reduce excessive elongation and physiological disorders. Gas exchange can be easily controlled using tape or film around closure.

Made from lightweight, durable material, the tube is less prone to breakage and significantly lighter than glass, making it especially suitable and cost-effective for safe shipping and handling of plantlets.

The tube is also well suited for virus elimination and clean stock programs, as each plant is handled individually, making material easy to track, test, and certify.
